roll out the carpet.......

i'm happy, THRILLED in fact, to report that miss blythe is finally available in the US! 'samedi marche' and 'asian butterfly' were two of the most popular dolls released in asia over the years. both are being re-released (as 'samedi marche encore' and 'asian butterfly encore') and are available at www.hasbrotoyshop.com and at entertainment earth. she'll also be appearing on toyshelves around town. there are a very limited amount of dolls available, so if you're in the mood you should order one pronto! if all goes as planned we hope to see blythe on US shelves for a long time to come.
if you're in asia and you're thinking....'hey, what about my needs?', fear no more. you can get your hands on the very same dolls at www.blythedoll.com. PHEW!
scary monsters, super creeps (and sweet blythe fans)

BOO! this years halloween party was a smashing success. about 30 people came to my studio armed with dolls in costumes galore. we spent the day chatting, eating cupcakes, chatting, eating cookies, chatting.....(you get the picture). it was a very chic and international set, with attendees from ny, connecticut, maryland, texas and the netherlands! thank you to all who came. i had a blast.
here are the winning entries:

sooooo kawaii, right?
chicago

well, i must say that the 'behind blythe' exhibit in chicago was an absolute blast! where to begin? the owners, kirby and whitney are just about the nicest people. and, on top of that they've got the most RAD store! if any of you are in chi-town please make it a point to swing by rotofugi @ 1953 west chicago avenue. they have really cool things.

junko and i were able to meet lots of new blythe fans as well as a few diehards. one of the biggest surprises was meeting allison. she was on hasbro's original design team back when blythe was created. it was so amazing to be able to talk to her about the attitudes and mindsets of the folks who originally created our little lady. she's an incredibly talented (and fabulous) woman. it was a real thrill to meet her.
thanks, ya'll

thanks to all who helped raise funds for the katrina victims. together we raised a total of $514 for the american red cross. my sister joy is a registered nurse and spent a week in biloxi helping with the relief effort. blythe went along to see the devastation first-hand. i really appreciate all who dug in their pockets for this cause. origato.
pop goes the weasel
over the summer i was interviewed for a new discovery channel show called 'pop nation'. it was such a fun and blythe-filled day. we shot a bit on my roof in nyc then headed down to my doll studio. i just heard from the producers that it should be airing sometime in november. i'll fill you in on all the details once they're in. check it out if you can.
coming to a town near you.....
i'm thrilled to announce that 'behind blythe' is on its way to portland, oregon! yippee!:
